Hole 11
Par 3 |
Number 11 and number 9 are easily among the two most difficult par threes that can be found on any course. Years after he competed at Cherry Hill in the 1972 Canadian Open, Lee Trevino told a member that he still remembered the two holes, asking, "Have those two par threes gotten any easier?" "No", would have been the only truthful answer. The hole requires a fairly long tee shot to the small green, which has bunkers left and right, and is severely sloped from upper left to lower right. A small plateau in the back left corner is a favorite pin position and getting down in two from the lower right portion of the green is a monumental task. |
